When Ad placement goes bad...
![]()
Spotted this on Fark: a news story about how a guy had his truck reposessed at a gas station without the repo men realizing that his daughter was still in it. The advert that ran in the story struck me as being a little, erm, badly thought out...
Of course, this sort of thing is generated automatically, but it still strikes me as being in bad taste: rather like the advert for a tropical vacation I saw (complete with people longing on the beach) that ran in a TV news cast just after a story about the SE Asian Tsunami with footage from some people who were on vacation at the time...

Genius or Impostor?
I'm really conficted about if this person is a genius or a total git. I ssupect that both are applicable. I mean, you've got to admire the guts of someone who makes paintings then sneaks them into the most famous art galleries in the world...
A British graffiti artist has managed to evade security and hang his work in four of New York's most prestigious and well-guarded museums... Some of the pieces went undetected for several days - such as a beetle with missiles attached to its body... Banksy raided the Metropolitan Museum, but decided to spare the Guggenheim. "I would have had to appear between two Picassos," he said. "And I'm not good enough to get away with that."

Slightly used laptop for sale
As seen on HardOCP, this slightly used laptop is for sale on eBay. The vendors used an innovative technique to remove the spyware from it: a shotgun.
"On this particular laptop, we researched a combination of verbal vulgarity and 12 gauge shotgun shells. The results of our research will be published in our forth coming book, "Spyware Go Bye Bye." Own this piece of RD R & D history."
The auction ends on the 19th of March, current high bid is $51. And don't forget, eBay offers financing for this one of a kind purchase!

SouthPark yourself...
A self-portrait, created with the SouthPark Studio (version 2). Not a bad likeness, I think. All it needs is a few cats gnawing on the couch in the background and it would be pretty much true to life...
As discovered by Jason Calcanis.

There are plenty of things you might expect to find in your toilet, but a 6-foot python generally isn't one of them...
It was almost 9 a.m. Tuesday and Shannon Scavotto already was running late for work when he opened the toilet to throw out a tissue.Inside was a snake as thick as a child's wrist, its diamond-shaped head sticking 10 inches out of the toilet.

Cat meets Bunny, Cat runs away
My friend Andy posted this touching story on how his Cat Shiloh and his rabbit Bunbun get along. It seems that Shiloh the cat was the scaredy-cat of the two, running in fear the first time he saw Bunbun. This doesn't surprise me: most cats I've known (and, believe me, that's quite a few) are scared of anything they don't know. Rabbits, meanwhile, are a bit dim, and generally aren't scared of things unless they actually bite them. As Andy puts it:
Well, at first the cat was terrified of the rabbit. Counterintuitive as that sounds, it actually makes sense if you consider the fact that Shiloh has always been extremely cautious and Bunbun is very forthcoming and outgoing.

David Bowler couldn't figure out why his Range Rover kept loosing power. So, he took it to the garage, where mechanics discovered that a Squirrel had been using his air filter as a nut stash... (Via Fark)

My New Name
Henceforth, I wish to be addressed as B.A.G.G.E.R.S.: Biomechanical Artificial Guardian Generated for Efficient Repair and Sabotage. My Dog shall henceforth be referred to as F.E.S.T.E.R.: Functional Electronic Sabotage and Terran Exploration Replicant. The Sabotage bit seems very appropriate.

Superheroes wanted for questioning
I guess even superheroes get cranky when they are hungry: these three are being sought by police in Kent (in the UK) after they were caught on CCTV after allegedly beating up someone in an argument over a shortage of food at a Burger van on Christmas Day...
